Vasilis Georgakis
Postgraduate student
Department of Mediterranean and Global Economic and Social History Vassilis Georgakis was born in 1990 and raised in Athens. He studied (rather unsuccessfully) Civil Engineering of Infrastructure in the former Technological Institute of Athens (now University of Western Attica). Since he felt uncomfortable with those facts, he left both Athens and construction sites and went on to Ioannina in order to study History and Archaeology. For the last couple of years he is a postgraduate student in Modern History, focusing on the social and economic transformation related to the creation and expansion of the modern Greek state, both in the regions of Epirus and Western Greece.
