Nafsika Andriopoulou
Dr Nafsika-Chrysoula Andriopoulou specialises in the study of microscopic phytoliths in geo-ethnoarchaeological contexts in Greece. She holds a PhD in Biomineralisation and Geoarchaeology (2020) and postgraduate degrees in the fields of the Natural Environment, Cultural Heritage, Special Education, and Science Communication. Through a combination of cultural-ecological approaches and inclusive pedagogical practices, Dr Andriopoulou makes scientific content accessible to diverse audiences, including children with visual impairments, using multimodal educational methods. A certified sensory play and music-and-movement facilitator, she is also participating in advanced training in Braille literacy through the Panhellenic Association of the Blind. She has teaching experience at the School of Mineral Resources Engineering of the Technical University of Crete, and has completed postdoctoral research positions at the Department of History and Archaeology of the University of Crete and at the Institute for Mediterranean Studies of the Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas. Her research has been funded by national and European bodies, has been conducted in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and has been honoured with distinctions.
