Διεθνή συνάντηση

Το Ινστιτούτο Μεσογειακών Σπουδών/ΙΤΕ στα πλαίσια του ερευνητικού προγράμματος ERC STG 2016 'Seafaring Lives in Transition. Mediterranean Maritime Labour and Shipping during Globalization, 1850s-1920s', οργανώνει την πρώτη διεθνή συνάντηση την Παρασκευή 6 και το Σάββατο 7 Οκτωβρίου στην αίθουσα διαλέξεων του ΙΜΣ, Νικ. Φωκά 130, στο Ρέθυμνο.


Στην διημερίδα θα συζητηθούν ερευνητικές προσεγγίσεις των μελών του προγράμματος, από τα πανεπιστήμια της Βαρκελώνης, Γένοβας Αιξ-Μασσαλίας και Κρήτης, σε ζητήματα Ναυτιλιακής Ιστορίας της Μεσογείου και της Μαύρης Θάλασσας. Η κεντρική ομιλία της συνάντησης θα γίνει την Παρασκευή 6 Οκτωβρίου στις 20.00 από τον καθηγητή κ. Gopalan Balachandran του Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies της Γενεύης, με θέμα «Sailors beyond ships and seas: modern seafarers in history and society".
